Key Pump Track Features

Pump tracks are usually designed as a loop or a free flow course with berms, rollers, jumps, and similar features.
Here are short explanations of tahe main features and their uses:
- Rollers:Rollers are the fundamental part of any pump track – a sequence of small humps. You gain momentum by pumping (pulling up on the front side and pushing down on the back side). They help develop balance and perfect your pumping technique.
- Berms: These are banked turns on corners that allow you to turn while maintaining momentum. They are essential for keeping flow on the track. Berms are also common on mountain bike trails, making pump tracks a great place to safely practice riding them.
- Tabletop Jumps: These flat-topped jumps are perfect for beginners to practice jumping and landing safely. They let you easily bail out on a jump if needed.
- Transfer Lines: As the name implies, these sections allow riders to transfer from one line to another, offering flexibility and adding variety. They are most common on free form pump tracks.
